Happy Halloween!
He is feeding himself more finger foods. He loves cheese like his daddy and yogurt like his mommy. He gets three meals a day - all stage 3 now. He is much more comfortable chewing. He munches on Gerber puffs, biter biscuits, and anything I get into his mouth. We like to sit him at the table with us and feed him bits of what we are having. This is a great milestone for us. I think I am most excited. I am looking forward to lots more self feeding.

Off to the L.A. County Fair!!!
Should there be an audition for the next Jungle Book movie William will surely get the part of Mowgli thanks for his new method of getting around:
I call it the "Mowgli Walk".
Well, summer camping has ended for this year and we have moved on to other adventures. Since it is still nice outdoors we went to the fair this weekend. Now tell me, how can you take a quality picture of a child on the merry-go-round while it is motion???
Can you tell he was enjoying his first ride??? I am telling there is a smile there... look past the blur. Really... it is there!
These days William delights us with "baba", "dada", "wooo", and lots of grunting and growling. Not to mention, there is also yelling and making sure we are watching everything he does. He is such the attention "hog". You will see what I mean when you check out the pictures.
BTW: Last time I said I didn't have any pics from our camping trip. I found some. Check out the updated post from last month.

On the move
He has developed a new interest in everything we do. He particularly likes working on the computer like daddy. You can see him hard at work on the photo page. He took swim lessons last month and he even got his first certificate. These days we just hang out at home and let him explore. He has successfully climbed all the steps in our house (with me behind him of course).
We camped at George Wheeler the past weekend.

Aaand he's off!!
Yes, we got crawling ... William is sitting up unsupported very well now. He is also crawling around. He is still a little wobbly and falls over when he goes too fast but he has it now.
He gets three solid meals a day in addition to formula. He also has one tooth sticking out: cutest thing. I noticed a couple more trying to push their way out.
He sleeps from 8:30 PM until 6:30 AM. I tell ya, sleep training was the best thing we ever did. He does really well with bedtime. I hope it keeps up.
We camped at Lake Piru, CA this past weekend.

Task of the month...
William is very close to sitting up unassisted for more than a minute. We were practicing this past weekend and there is hope for him yet. That's my sister Cris in the background standing by! You can tell from the serious look on his face he is concentrating really hard on what's going on around him. He is very curious and alert when it comes to his surroundings.
For next month we hope crawling will be in order.

Weekend at Lake Perris!
Well, we took William camping. It was his first camping trip and he seemed to really enjoy being outdoors. We planned on letting him get into the lake but it was too cold for him (I think).
Night time was difficult because the temperature dropped and it was keeping warm. I think William was ok since he had about five layers on and he slept in my jacket on my tummy.
Well, that's all for now.

Alas, I am back!!
Wow, it has been so long since I have been here. I guess I have just been so wrapped up with my new baby. I was trying to get Ben to post for me but alas, here I am again posting.
I go back to work on March 7th and I wanted to take a quick moment, while Ben has the baby, to drop you all a line.
William is doing well. He is getting bigger. He is now having cereal in his bottles. This is our attempt at trying to get him to sleep through the night. We started on 2/25 and so far we have had 2 successful nights. One night he slept from 12 midnight to 7AM. That was super sweet. He did fuss a little at night but nothing a quick back rub couldn't fix. We will start him on veggies at the end of this month. I am looking forward to feeding him table foods. His biggest achievement so far is rolling over. Yes, you read that right! William has learned to roll over from his stomach to his back. It was the coolest thing to see. I couldn't believe it.
He is really into his hands and other objects. He explores them by looking at them closely and putting them in his mouth. I try to give him a variety of objects to play with. He is mostly fascinated by his hands. He clasps his fingers together, opens and closes them, and best of all, he sucks on them. :-) That provides a good 45 minutes of entertainment. Then he is ready for the next thing.

We have long conversations and even sing duets.
It feels like he is growing so fast. I can't really see him getting bigger but I know he is growing because I have had to sort out clothes that no longer fit and pull out bigger ones.

My mom started babysitting on 2/26 and boy does William love her. They have tons of fun together. They talk and play and she has no problems getting him to nap. I think it will be good for him to have her here. She completely focuses on him and gives him attention all day. I am curious to see how things go when I get back to work. I don't know how I am going to adjust to not being with my baby boy. I am worried I will miss seeing him growing up. :-(
Well, that is about it for now.
